Today i want show you a brilliant web 2.0 
App…
It is Prezi which really impressed me by it’s simplicity and usability. It’s simply great!
Prezi is a tool to create Presentations. You can create, store and present them online! Very Handy, you have access to your Presentations at every place and every time… There are a lot such tools you say? Yes, that’s true, but none is like prezi.
Prezi leaves the trail of common presentation tools like Powerpoint. They are all faking the handling of overhead transparency foils. Prezi is not! prezi is a complete new way of doing a presentation. When you create, it feels like scribbling down notes on a piece of paper. The same way you do when you gather ideas before you begin creating a Powerpoint. When you scribbled down your thoughts… you can connect them by a trail… In presentation mode your presentation hops from point to point! It’s not slide after slide… it’s trail point after point… You can set the focus of every point with the help of Frames, otherwise it just focuses the text-box, image,movie…
At every point in the presentation you can zoom out and move around your sheet… no more: “wait, i think that was on my fifth slide… click, click, cklickediclick”

While developing it’s nice to have a on-the-fly syntax checker. With emacs thats quite easy. Just add the following to your .emacs

Hello folks. Just some little Infos und how to get the special keys of the Microsoft Natural Ergonomic 4000 Keyboard running under linux. There is a handy tool called xbindkeys to do such things. with xbindkeys you can find out the keycodes for every button you like… Just type “xbindkeys -k” into terminal and press the button you want to know the keycode for… The code then gets printed in the Terminal…
All you have to do now is to extend the .xbindkeysrc file in your home directory (create it if it’s not already there).
In this File you put in the Command you want to launch an associate it with the keycode.
Like this:

now start xbindkeys in your terminal… and voila… key bound to your custom command 
If you use Gnome you could now add xbindkeys to autolaunch (Its in System->Settings->Session).
For your convienience i’ll provide you my custom .xbindkeysrc. It has also a binding for the ThinkVantage Button on a Thinkpad T400 (it launches a terminal now )
put the following into .xbindkeysrc in your home directory!

Morgen am 7. April 2009 findet nun der zweite webmardi statt. Das Thema ist diesmal Web of Things präsentiert von Vlad Trifa und Dominique Guinard.
Diesmal treffen wir uns wieder in den Liip Büro’s an der Fonderie 7 in Fribourg.
Eine gute Gelegenheit zum kennenlernen neuer Themen und neuer Leute (aka Networking 
) aus dem Web. Mehr Informationen wie immer auf dem webmardi wiki.
Ein gemütliches Apero, ein kleiner Vortrag und danach eventuell ein Bier im Transformateur… Es gibt also nicht s zu verlieren. Die erste Edition war ein voller Erfolg, lasst auch die zweite zu einem Erfolg werden. Insgesamt eine gute Sache fürs Web in Fribourg.
Die dritte Edition im Mai wird dann voraussichtlich von Xavier Bertschy gehosted. Für diesen Event brauchts noch Themen. Wenn Du also eine gute Idee hast melde dich beim Master of webmardi Pierre Spring.

Mein neuer Brötchengeber die Liip Ag mit Sitz in Fribourg, Zürich und Bern ist nominiert für den Master of SwissWeb Award.

Transport (GottaGo)
Transport (GottaGo) , ist die MustHave iPhone Appliaktion für Schweizer ÖV Benutzer. Ziel-Ort eingeben und schon ermittel GottaGo mittels GPS deinen aktuellen Standord und sagt dir von welchen Abfahrts-Stationen in deiner Nähe Du am schnellsten ans Ziel kommst. Um die Abfahrtsstation (Bus, Tram, Zug) zu finden kann man sich den Weg gar auf Google Maps zeigen lassen.
Alle wichtigen ÖV Fahrpläne der Schweiz hat man somit stets zur Hand.

RAIweb
RAIweb ist ein modernes Intranet für die Raiffaisen Banken.
Aufbauend auf OpenSource und freien Standards hat die Raifteisen ein modernes Intranet für seine Mitarbeiter welches den heutigen Standards entspricht. Jeder Benutzer kann seine Startseite gestalten wie er will. 2 Apps you only get trough the Cydia installer which are worth Jailbreaking.
First one is QuickGold:
QuickGold App Launcher
Normally one ButtonPress invokes nothing when you are already on SpringBoard… What a waste… With QuickGold you can have a kick ass app starter there. just start typing letters ma… and it searches trough your phone… Apps, PhoneNumbers, MailAdresses and the like appear… just click and you are there … start App, call Number, write Mail… Great. Oh and before you start tapping letters… you have an overview screen with tiny icons from the apps you launched last trouh it! Simply a functionality iPhone was missing!
Second is SBSettings:
SBSettings everywhere...
SBSettings doesn’t come with an icon. To start you have to swipe your finger across the Status Bar at the Top… It works on every Application you might be in… SBSettings then PopsUp over your running App (In the Screenshot the iPod App is under it..) . Once there you can turn on and off these Energy consuming features you have. Very handy. This App is the reason my phone now runs over the whole weekend. I just turn off what i do not use. Yes you could do that without it, but hey, it uses so many clicks that you hardly ever do… isn’t it?
Safari startet and 3G is off? No Problem, swipe, click, 3G is on, click … and Safari still running… Just great. The App can do more but i use it to turn some features on and off…

Am 3ten März findet in Fribourg zum ersten mal webmardi statt. Ein Treffen für Freaks, Geeks, Nerds, Designer und Profis aus dem Web-Bereich. webmardi wird einmal monatlich durchgeführt und etabliert sich hoffentlich als fixer Termin in der Branche.
Es soll ein Ort des Austausches sein. Vorbild hierbei ist der webtuesday in Zürich, webmardi ist nun das pendant für die Westschweiz organisiert von Pierre Spring.
Mit gleichgesinnten Erfahrungen austauschen und über neue Trends spekulieren.
webmardi, jeweils am ersten Dienstag des Monats, besteht aus jeweils einem Vortrag zu einem Web-Thema und anschliessendem Apero welches zu Diskussionen und Austausch anregen soll.
Diesmal ist das Thema HTML 5. Joël Bez wird dazu einen Vortrag halten und uns das Thema näherbringen. Was ist neu an HTML 5? Wieso brauchen wir es? Wie ist der aktuelle Stand? Dazu Demos, Diskussionen und Bier.
Interesse geweckt? Dann los und ab auf webmardi.ch und anmelden. Ich würde mich freuen Dich in den Büros von Liip and der Fonderie 7 in Fribourg anzutreffen.

Das neue Wordpress 2.7 hat viele Interface Neuerungen mitgebracht… OK hier auf dem Frontend sieht man nichts davon, das Admin-Interface ist jedoch verdammt sexy geworden!

Ich will hier auf den puredata workshop von hackburg.ch aufmerksam machen und euch alle dazu einladen.
Eine einmalige Gelegenheit um die Software Pure Data kennenzulernen. Wir werden uns im Workshop vor allem auf die Sound-Qualitäten von Pure Data konzentrieren. Dazu haben wir 2 Experten von netpd.org dabei. Mit puredata kannst du einfach deinen eigenen Synthesizer bauen und wunderbare elektronische
Klänge erzeugen. Vor allem lernt man wie so ein Synthesizer überhaupt funktioniert. (Was man ja eh wissen sollte um ihn zu bedienen ). Der Workshop ist For Beginners and advanced users, also keine Angst, wir sind alle nett
Mit puredata ist aber noch viel mehr möglich, man kann damit z.B. auch Videos mixen oder live visuals für einen Auftritt erstellen. Die Möglichkeiten sind endlos und der Kreativität keine Grenzen gesetzt.
Also kommt doch am 8.11.2008 im centre fries in fribourg vorbei.
